Doring Bay is popular for:

Water sports - Swimming and tanning, surfing, photography, sailing, wind surfing, kite flying, motor-boating, jet skiing, water skiing and canoeing. Boats can be launched from the harbour in Doring Bay.

Beach Activities - Walking, running and playing volleyball.

Fishing and Crayfishing - Recreational fishers must have a permit, observe fishing restrictions and limits and may not sell their catch. Hottentot, Galjoen, Steenbras and Snoek are the local fish.

Hiking trail - between Doringbaai and Strandfontein on which you can enjoy watching wild flowers, whales and dolphins simultaneously as their season overlaps. The wild flowers blossoms after the winter rains and are a spectacular sight.

Whale watching - Doring Bay is part of the MTN Cape Whale Route. The route goes from Strandfontein - just 7 km from Doringbaai - on the West Coast to Tsitsikamma on the East Coast. Migrating whales visit the coastal waters from July to November and Heaviside dolphins are often sighted.

Bird Watching - The following sea birds can be seen in the area: Gulls, Cormorants, Gannets, Albatross, Oystercatchers, Penguins, White-fronted Plovers, Flamingos and many more.
